San Antonio police have arrested a woman who they say stole from a Victoria’s Secret in Ingram Park Mall and threatened to shoot the people inside.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, on June 7 Apreciado entered the store and began to place unpurchased items into a bag she was carrying. That’s when, police say, an employee trained in dealing with shoplifters approached her, to see if she needed assistance.
The affidavit says Apreciado told the employee, “I’m so upset that my gun is too small, I can’t grab it,” while reaching into her purse. She then said, “I’m not afraid to shoot everyone in the store.” The employee, standing a few feet away, left Apreciado fearing that the shooting would be carried out, the affidavit states. Apreciado continued concealing items in her bag and fled, police said.
Surveillance video captured the incident and it was through several Crime Stoppers tips that the witness was able to identify the woman.
