A Dauphin County woman whose mother fostered 10 children followed those generational footsteps Tuesday, adopting one of her foster siblings' child as her own.

Jackie and her husband, Damian Dyer, finalized the adoption process Tuesday with the order of Judge John C. Cherry at the Dauphin County Courthouse in front of dozens of relatives and friends. “It’s not just about the parents,” Debra Bostdorf, a family friend, said. “It is so much a family thing, having older siblings to welcome a younger child.”
So when Ezekiel needed someone to care for him, it was a natural choice for Jackie’s family to step up. Steve Blair, the Dyer’s pastor at Hillside Christian Fellowship, implored God to deliver the sweetness of his presence to the Dyer family.
