Wolfville is paying tribute to a man who was often called the Barber of Mud Creek.Just Us! CaféSarah Lightfoot and her family organized the placement of a plaque on the wall of what used to be the Razor’s Edge barbershop.Wolfville Mayor Wendy Donovan acknowledged the Lightfoot family for “helping to keep our history alive with the memories of those who made this the special town it is.”
For more than six decades, Lightfoot clipped people’s hair at his Wolfville barbershop. The central location of his shop allowed Lightfoot’s passion for meeting people and cutting hair to make him an integral part of the community in another era.Men often chose to wait two hours for a cut in order to catch up on the local gossip.
