It was a failure to launch for Toronto FC against the L.A. Galaxy on Saturday night, at least in terms of recording a result.
The 2-1 loss to the Galaxy on Saturday at the Dignity Health Park in Carson, Calif., marked the final match of the pre-season for Toronto. Former TFC midfielder Mark Delgado scored the winning goal on a long-range rocket in the 52nd minute for the Galaxy on Saturday night while Efraín Alvarez scored his fourth goal of the pre-season with Riqui Puig assisting on both LA goals. Ayo Akinola scored in the 89th minute for Toronto. TFC will open the MLS regular season campaign on Feb. 25 away against D.C. United at Audi Field at 7:30 p.m. Toronto’s home opener at BMO Field is on March 11 against the Columbus Crew.
