On Tuesday, the Department of Transportation in Wisconsin announced that it would allow teens to skip their in-person road tests before getting a driver's license.

"The Division of Motor Vehicles has been at the forefront of making changes to protect the public and our associates during the public health emergency, while continuing to provide vital public services," Secretary-designee Craig Thompson said in a statement."These pilot programs represent innovative solutions to help Wisconsin address challenges created by the pandemic."

In addition to meeting the driver training requirements, Wisconsin teens must also have a learner's permit, have at least 30 hours of supervised driving, and they also must have an adult sponsor sign their road test waiver.
