Winterlude is set to wrap up Monday after an 18\u002Dday celebration conducted without the usual star of the show — skating on the Rideau Canal.
It generally requires ten to 14 days of cold temperatures — between -10 C and -20 C — to create ice thick enough for safe skating, the NCC says.
The forecast for Monday is a high of 3 C with a few rain showers or flurries, according to Environment Canada.
