Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm, Environment Canada says
While the start of spring may be just a day away, Environment Canada is advising that areas north of the Sault, including Lake Superior Provincial Park and Wawa, are in for some heavy snowfall.
The weather agency says a winter weather travel advisory is in effect for tonight into Tuesday morning, with reduced visibility likely on the roads.Issued at 2024-03-18 5:11 p.m. by Environment Canada:Current details:Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm.Heavy snow causing reduced visibility is forecast to begin tonight with the passage of a low pressure system. The main snow will continue for several hours before ending from west to east throughout Tuesday morning.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
