Wildfire season begins in northern B.C. with evacuation alert issued for Endako

Additionally two more fires reported east of Vanderhoof, approximately 11 km west of Fraser Lake

Upon recommendations from BC Wildfire Service, an Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako due to a wildfire. The alert covers all lands, properties, and dwellings for areas east of Savory Road and west of Endako Mine Road, north of the railway and south of the PNG pipeline, including all of Endako plus all properties addressed off Columbia Street.

BC Wildfire Service personnel, along with community wildfire response teams, heavy equipment, and two helicopters, are actively engaged in containment efforts. A structure protection specialist is en route to assess potential needs.
