The notion that Fox would be a somewhat independent branch, like Pixar or Marvel, for Disney to produce/distribute studio programmers, star vehicles and/or R-rated adult fare is looking more and more like a pipe dream.

They put the kibosh on pricey long shots like Wes Ball's mega-budget, unless they are huge hits, may essentially mark the end of Fox as we know it. That's as much on us as it is on Disney.
