Industry experts say it's too hot for solar panels to work to their full capacity.
The UK's heatwave is helping to generate large amounts of solar power - but experts say it's actually too hot for the highest levels of electricity generation.
But its chief executive Chris Hewett says: "The heat itself brings down the efficiency of solar panels slightly.This week has seen the UK record its highest ever day and nigh temperatures, with heat warnings being put in place for much of the country.But for solar power generation, the amount of sunshine - also referred to as irradiance - is more important than the amount of heat,
"The amount of generation coming from solar has been very high over the last week. But I think it's unlikely a new record will be set in terms of power generation."
