The first look at The Witcher season 3 has arrived, and among its surprises is that this season will be split into two parts – and here's why.
The first teaser for Netflix’s The Witcher season 3 revealed that it’s going to be split into two parts, and here’s why.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Although The Witcher season 2 took too many creative liberties when adapting the stories of Geralt, Ciri , and Yennefer , and the latter’s story was very controversial, it ended on an exciting note as these characters are finally together and ready to work together to protect each other, especially Ciri, who is now being hunted by half the Continent.
As mentioned above, The Witcher season 3 isn’t the series’ last, as it will continue with a fourth season, but it is the final one with Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The announcement of Cavill leaving the series was a big shock for the audience, and reactions to Liam Hemsworth’s casting have been mixed.
The Witcher Season 3 Wasn't Meant To Be Split Splitting The Witcher season 3 into two parts wasn’t always meant to happen, though series creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich was aware that it could. Speaking to Collider in December 2022, while promoting Blood Origin, Schmidt Hissrich said that they hadn’t discussed dividing The Witcher season 3 into two parts, but seeing how things had been going across all streamers, she didn’t rule out the possibility.
Splitting The Witcher Season 3 Makes Less Sense Than Stranger Things Whether it’s part of Netflix’s marketing game for The Witcher season 3 or in order to give VFX artists more time, the truth is that dividing The Witcher season 3 into two parts makes less sense than when Stranger Things did it.
