Ryan Day provided updates as Ohio State prepares to face Michigan State.
Why Ohio State’s botched fake punt at Rutgers happened, and did Ryan Day consider a special teams shakeup?
Day attributed the lack of explosive plays by the receivers as a byproduct of playing a quality pass defense that sold out on not letting that happen. The Scarlet Knights spent most of the afternoon in a two-high safety shell, forcing McCord to take the underneath routes, and he had no issue doing so.
Day liked what he saw from McCord on Saturday even if he didn’t earn champion status. He also saw some things that let him know his quarterback is still on the right path.
