After more than three months of neighbors sounding the alarm about a bus terminal in the Hilltop, a person was shot and killed there Sunday night.

According to the Director of Building and Zoning for Columbus, neighbors have to wait for a judge to decide the bus terminal's fate. But neighbors said there's no time to wait when people's safety is at risk.

According to court documents, the Mayor sent a letter to the property owner on July 17. Then, on July 27, the Department of Building and Zoning sent a notice of violation for operating without a certificate of occupancy.ABC6/FOX28 asked the Director of Building and Zoning, Scott Messer, why city leaders won't shut down the facility.

ABC6/FOX28 also asked Messer if his department did its due diligence and asked enough questions about the plan.
