The Dallas Cowboys will have a different look for Sunday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
If so, don’t worry, you are not seeing things.
Yes, the Dallas Cowboys’ helmet has a different look with a red vertical stripe running vertical instead of the traditional blue and white stripes, and there is good reason for it.The team is wearing the helmet as part of its Salute to Service night, and it is meant to honor medal of Honor recipients. So, the helmet will have the red stripe to go with a white and a blue stripe. The Cowboys are also reportedly honoring 17 Medal of Honor recipients during the game.
— as part of the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” initiative — intended to honor The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation. Dallas reportedly wore this helmet, with red, white and blue stripes, during the 1976 season to pay tribute to the American Bicentennial, and they wore them last season, too, in a Salute to Service game against the Denver Broncos.
