When it comes to the biggest movies, general audiences will still make an effort to see that huge movie in a huge theater if they wanted to see that movie in the first place. Now that’s not to say piracy isn’t a problem, a crime or a moral offense. Save for some very specific circumstances , piracy is worthy of a walk across a plank. Like most bad things, however, it screws over the smaller people more than the major studios.

What this means is that fans and casual moviegoers still showed up and kept showing up to the MCU epic well after the big secrets were available for anyone to find. That’s the same for any big movie that was somewhat predicated on big spoilers or “How does it all end?” speculation. For example, people still showed up towell after its opening weekend, despite the fact that the whole “Does Batman die at the end?” question had been answered for anyone with the ability to do a Google search.

Even if the whole movie had been leaked and even if that whole movie had been revealed to be exceptionally lousy, well, that’s for you. It’s still an unfortunate occurrence, if only because Marvel had tried so hard to keep everything top secret. Nonetheless,
