One of the two lightsaber blades Ahsoka wields is shorter than the other, which is uncommon among Jedi and other lightsaber wielders. Ahsoka is certainly not the first to take up the dual-lightsaber fighting style of Jar'Kai, with characters such as Asajj Ventress and even Darth Sidious often using the same style. Their lightsabers, however, were always the same in size, with the blades just as elongated as the typical lightsaber.
Ahsoka's Second Blade Is A Shoto Blade The smaller sized blade is called a shoto blade. This type of blade was technically first seen in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, as it's the only type of lightsaber Yoda used due to his small stature. For a dual-wielder like Ahsoka, the shoto blade works like a dagger, allowing the wielder to have better control over both their weapons while also offering extra reinforcement from and for attacks.
Why We've Never Seen A Shoto Blade Before Ahsoka received her Jedi training during the Clone Wars, something that made her training much more focused on fights and attacks than what the typical Padawan would've been used to. As her master, Anakin wanted to assure he was giving Ahsoka her best chance at surviving and being protected during the war, and thus he deliberately trained her in an unusually aggressive fighting style.
