The City of Ottawa says neither it nor the National Capital Commission has done any trapping in McCarthy Woods since early November.

Wildlife advocates are discussing getting trail cameras so they can locate the injured animal and working with a wildlife rehabilitation organization if necessary. “The question is whether bylaw has the background to manage this responsibly. And I think the answer to that is no,” she said. “Myself and other residents feel the safety of the forest has been compromised. I don’t feel that the city is taking it seriously.”Article content
