Gen V has included a love triangle between Cate, Andre, and Luke/Golden Boy, with episode 6 seemingly confirming where the former’s heart truly lies.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Gen V episode 6 took audiences on a journey through Cate's mind, with the story seemingly confirming who the character truly loves between Andre and Luke/Golden Boy. Throughout Gen V's first two episodes, Cate's relationship with Luke was adequately established.

What seemed like a generic love triangle at first has been made much deeper by Gen V episode 6. The journey through Cate's mind featured in the episode confirmed that Andre and Cate had been having an affair from before Luke's death rather than being brought together by their grief as first thought.

That said, Gen V still confirms that Cate cared for Luke in some capacity. It has been made clear that Cate regrets her actions conducted at the behest of Shetty, from her manipulation of her friends to her constant need to wipe Luke's memories. This regret, combined with how she was shown acting around Luke in Gen V's first few episodes, proves that Cate did care for Golden Boy albeit without loving him in the way the latter assumed.

Cate Does Love Andre In Gen V Conversely, Gen V episode 6 confirms that Cate really loves Andre. At one point in the episode, Andre, Marie, and Jordan encounter a manifestation of Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy in Cate's mind who knows the depths of her feelings due to his role as her imaginary friend. Soldier Boy addresses Andre as if he knows him, proving that Cate's mind dwells on Andre a lot.

This was further reinforced by the reveal that Cate and Andre have been sleeping together since before Luke's death. With the implication that Cate was pushed into a relationship with Luke, it became clear that she developed real feelings for Andre through subsequently being closer to him too. Through these developments, not only has Gen V confirmed where Cate's heart lies but also made Luke's life that much more tragic in retrospect.
