CALGARY — Calgary Hitmen goalie Daniel Hauser set a new Western Hockey League record for wins with a 5-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday.

Hauser posted 21 saves to collect his 123rd win, eclipsing the previous mark set by Saskatoon Blades netminder Nolan Maier in April 2022.

He also had a record-setting start to his career, posting a 20-0-2 stretch before his first regulation loss. Hauser has an impressive 20-4-0 record with a 1.94 goals-against average, a .924 save percentage and five shutouts since the move.

Carson Wetsch, Brandon Gorzynski and Hunter Aura also scored for Calgary , while Oliver Tulk had two assists.
