Whitehall-Yearling's Nakylan Haley was named central Ohio high school football Player of the Week for Week 4.
It's not uncommon for a high school football player to score three touchdowns in one game. But on Sept. 9, Whitehall-Yearling senior Nakylan Haley achieved the feat in an uncommon way.
The outside linebacker returned interceptions 76 and 85 yards for touchdowns. He also blocked two punts, scooping up one and taking it 25 yards for a score, and made nine tackles.. He received five staff votes, while Gahanna Lincoln's Diore Hubbard, Pickerington Central's Troy Lane, Hilliard Darby's Parker Schwandt and Big Walnut's Nate Severs each received one.
Whitehall earned its third consecutive victory, defeating host Grandview Heights 49-14 in the MSL-Ohio Division opener for both teams. The Rams play host to Watterson on Sept. 16 in a battle of 3-1 teams in Division III, Region 11.
