Youth advocates have urged action on education, health care, mental health care, racism and discrimination on the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, while also calling on governments to address climate change , disruptive technologies, and changing demographics with children and young people in mind.
“Education, health care and social services–including birth registration–and public services such as schools, childcare and leisure facilities must remain available and accessible.” Climate change, meanwhile, presented a threat to children’s health and education, the report said. It could also lead to short- or long-term displacement. Those threats also apply to Canada.
