AccuWeather has released its annual predictions for autumn weather. The forecasting service says Western Canada will see markedly different fall conditions than Eastern Canada.

The western provinces will see wetter and cooler climates this fall, while Eastern Canada is forecast to receive quite the opposite.

"Despite the overall warm look to the season, nights can quickly turn cold due to the drier ground," Anderson explained. Colder nights may also spell early seasonal frosts or freezes. "The combination of the expected storm track and unusually high sea surface temperatures should favour a balmy fall for most of the Maritime Provinces," Anderson said.

"Extended stretches of favourable weather for fall foliage are expected from Ontario to New Brunswick," Anderson said, warning the timing of peak colours may be delayed by as much as a week.For the third year in a row, the potent weather phenomenon describing sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern parts of the Pacific Ocean dropping to below-average levels, will continue to affect weather patterns thousands of kilometres away.
