Where is Tesla headquarters? HQ has moved and expanded over the years

Here's a look at Tesla's decision to move its headquarters from California to Texas in Elon Musk's departure from the Golden State. The move came about six months before Musk announced that thefrom California to Austin, Texas officially in December 2021.said the company is moving into office space in Palo Alto that was previously occupied by Hewlett-Packard. He said the move will allow the company to work more on its plans for autonomous driving and robotics.

Despite the move to Texas, where Tesla built its second US car factory near Austin, the carmaker continued to produce many of its cars at its factory in Fremont, California and still maintains a presence at its previous company headquarters in Palo Alto. As of January, Tesla employs about 47,000 workers in California, according to its blog.

The state has also launched a series of regulatory probes regarding Tesla's treatment of its workers, as well as the marketing of its self-driving technology.
