When Will Shops Re-open in London?
With lockdown restrictions easing, some of us are eager to visit our favourite shopping destinations in the capital. But when exactly will the shops open again in London, and what will the “new normal” shopping experience be like?Non-essential retail outlets are officially permitted to open from June 15. “Non-essential” covers pretty much everything including fashion retailers and department stores.
Like essential retail, all shops that open on June 15 must take appropriate measures to ensure social distancing is maintained and that their staff and customers are safe. This may include: The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is encouraging Londoners to walk or cycle when possible. Additional cycling lanes have also been added to some streets.
Research suggests that your chances of contracting the virus from being in a supermarket or other shop for a short period of time are very low. The risks are higher for staff.
