What will the Madison County Commission do with the rest of the funding? Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon told the Lede last month that some of the funding could be used to help the county recoup some of the money it has spent on non-Huntsville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization road projects.
“What money we’ve spent might can go back to the county pot of money” to work on other projects, McCutcheon said. “I think it’s good management on our part to try to utilize that.”'At its Sept. 27 meeting, the commission approved the use of ARPA funds for use on work on Meridianville’s water storage tank. The commission approved an agreement with Krebs Engineering for work not to exceed $380,000.
“It’s a good thing we’re using ARPA funds for this,” County Commissioner Phil Riddick said. “We’re going to have to do it anyway.” If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
