Brown, 30, grew up near Ottawa and represented Canada at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in the summer of 2021. "The smoke was so bad," she said. "It was my first real exposure to wildfire smoke and air pollution and growing up in Ontario, it was never really an issue for us."
