President Biden is set to visit Utah this week. Here's what to expect from his visit and what Utah Democrats are saying about it.

"We're just so excited to have him here. I think it's going to be a great moment for the Democrats in the state of Utah and have them realize that our president does think about us and that he will show up in a very red state," said Diane Lewis, chairwoman of the Utah Democratic Party.As with any presidential visit, it's undoubtedly a big deal and even more so for Democratic leaders throughout Utah.

Senate Minority Leader Luz Escamilla, D-Salt Lake City, said it's "an honor" for Utah to host the president.Biden makes Grand Canyon monument designation, citing Arizona tribal heritage, climate concerns and comments he made in his visit, so I'm excited for that. definitely will be a very different set of comments and statements made."

It's very historical to have a president of the United States come to the state of Utah, and we're really excited to host him. I'm looking forward to ... talking to him about pressing issues that are impacting us all, and climate change is a huge issue for many in my community, especially when you look at it from an environmental justice lens.will be things that if I get a chance to communicate anything to the president, will be those pieces," Escamilla said.

Lewis said that she got to meet and talk to Biden in Maryland at the beginning of the year and, during their conversation, Biden expressed concern for the Great Salt Lake and Utah's environment as a whole.
