Another found that high levels of vitamin D might lower your risk for severe COVID-19 infection, especially if you’re a Black person. The study included over 3,000 people whose vitamin D levels were tested within 14 days before they got a COVID-19 test.

Researchers looked at more than 1 million people of European ancestry from 11 countries. They also included people with a gene mutation that allows them to have naturally high levels of vitamin D.
