Meteorologists with the National Weather Service are encouraging people in the Bay Area to come up with an emergency plan, as a flood watch and a high wind watch are about to go into effect.

“It’ll be very similar in strength to the atmospheric river event we saw over the weekend,” Ayd said. “This one might be in and out a little bit quicker, but overall, we’ll see very similar impacts in very similar areas.” “Southerly winds will quickly increase during the overnight hours of Monday into early Tuesday morning as the first slug of energy arrives with the atmospheric river,” the weather service said. “Winds may ease slightly for a time on Tuesday then turn southwest as strong surface low pressure passes over the region. Expect downed trees and limbs to lead to renewed power outages across the region.”
