Despite a successful 2021 at the plate, Yon Moncada left fans wanting more. With some good health luck, he could deliver just that in 2022.
Is it a problem? Not exactly, because Moncada did have a strong campaign last year.
Regardless, though, considering Moncada has been branded as an MVP type — his skills and play saying so more than any intangible expectations — it's not out of line to wonder if he can produce at an MVP level. That includes the power numbers. So even the White Sox know there are more home runs in Moncada's bat. Until all those homers come out, though, he can still be counted on to do all that other stuff he does so well, and that's the answer to what can be expected from him in 2022.The White Sox are still looking for a second baseman, of course, and there's plenty of offseason work to be done on the other side of the lockout.
