From Imagine Dragons at Casa Loma to the 95th Academy Awards at Hot Docs, here's a sampling of what to do in Toronto over March Break.

Ted Rogers Cinema will broadcast it live, for free, for the first time since before the pandemic, in an event hosted by Amira Mahamud and Neal Armstrong. The etalk red-carpet coverage starts at 6:30 p.m., before the 8 p.m. show, and Hot Docs will roll out its own red carpet for guests “dressed to the nines,” said Michelle Boon, Hot Docs programming associate. “But you can come with sweats or pyjamas, too.

Guests can expect drinks, snacks, Hollywood- and documentary-themed trivia, and prize giveaways, including screening vouchers and Hot Docs memberships.is returning this Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free-admission event will pack Sugar Beach with all things maple and Canadian , so folks can indulge in fresh maple taffy and fudge, maple baked beans and other maple-infused food. This year’s event will also feature, for the first time, a lumberjack show.

Black Creek Pioneer Village is also celebrating maple syrup season from March 13 to 18. Guests can see the old-fashioned maple process “all the way from tree to table.” Tickets range from $18 to $22. Other regions such as Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills, Mississauga and Stouffville will host their own maple syrup festivities. will showcase the many ways animals and plants prepare for changing seasons as well as cultural springtime celebrations from around the world.
