NEW: What happened and who won, lost in the midterm elections in Texas, San Antonio area
The state saw a drop in turnout — as did Bexar County — compared to the 2018 midterm.
Less than 550,000 of Bexar County’s 1.2 million registered voters cast a ballot, amounting to less than 44% turnout. Political observers’ predictions for the night largely held true, with Republicans winning all statewide races, including the high-profile battle for Texas governor. Meanwhile, Democrats performed well in Bexar County.
