Alberton’s collaborative emergency centre at Western Hospital has been closed overnight each weekend since the start of July due to lack of staffing. Together, the three medical staff would develop a plan of care, said Phillips when she spoke to SaltWire Network by phone on Aug. 16. “ are very highly trained and work very hard to get that training,” said Phillips. “They are valued members here.”The CEC sees an average of one patient per night, said Phillips.
