Council voted on Monday to explore a terminus at Park Royal, route alternatives and traffic improvements along Marine Drive.
West Vancouver district council has voted unanimously to explore different route and stop options for a proposed North Shore rapid bus service, including terminating it at Park Royal.
The original proposal from TransLink, the regional transit authority, called for four stops in West Vancouver: Park Royal, and 14th, 21st and 24th streets. In response, Coun. Peter Lambur put forward a motion to have staff study what a terminus at Park Royal could look like and what road improvements could be made — other than bus-only lanes — to improve traffic flow for buses and other vehicles. An amendment by Coun.
Staff are expected to report back on options within 30 days, along with the results of a recent district-led public consultation.
