West Shore RCMP investigating reports of assault at Colwood apartment building

Officers from West Shore RCMP are investigating reports of an assault in an apartment building in Colwood.

Const. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer, says they have received unconfirmed reports of a stabbing in the building, located in the 300-block of Wale Road but it is currently being investigated as an assault.

“We’re still discovering more information, but at this point right now, it’s unconfirmed reports of a stabbing,” Saggar said in an interview with CHEK News. “I can tell you we are investigating an assault between parties that know each other, this isn’t a stranger thing or anything like that.” Saggar says the two parties at this point are believed to be friends, and that this is not believed to be a domestic situation.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.Police are investigating the possibility that it is an assault with a weapon, but are not able at this time to determine whether a weapon was used.
