Wendy Williams 'understands' why Sherri Shepherd is taking over time slot
“It’s been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time,” Williams’ rep Howard Bragman said in“She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television — you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s the ‘Maybe Wendy Show,'” Bragman continued.
However, shortly after the statement was released, Williams took to her personal Instagram page claiming she didn’t give Bragman, her publicist, the OK to speak for her. for months, taking medical leave in September 2021. Guest hosts who’ve stepped in on her behalf include Shepherd, Michael Rapaport, Bevy Smith & Terrance J, Jerry Springer, Leah Remini and others.
