Alberta oil has powered internal-combustion vehicles for decades. Interestingly, then, E3 Lithium took a big step forward to continue that trend in the province, but in support of electric vehicles.

“Alberta will be a major jurisdiction for lithium products feeding this battery ecosystem,” he said then, “And lithium is in every battery chemistry being manufactured today.” The Canadian Press reported in September that the lithium resource E3 is drawing from is in the same oilfield as Leduc No. 1, the historic gusher that began Alberta’s oil-and-gas industry in 1947.
