The weekend starts with a 30 per cent chance of showers Friday afternoon and early evening then skies clear, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The predicted low is 17 C overnight.
Saturday’s forecast is sunny with a high of 31 C, a humidex of 36 and a UV index of 8 or very high. The mercury is expected to dip to 16 C with cloudy periods Saturday night.As of Friday, the green flag was up at Mooney’s Bay and the Petrie Island River Beaches but swimming was “not recommended” at Petrie Island East Bay and Britannia, according to Ottawa Public Health. The health unit is doing daily water tests for E.coli bacteria t the city’s supervised beaches through Aug.
The National Capital Commission, meanwhile, said that beaches at La Pêche, Leamy, Meech and Philippe lakes were open with water quality either excellent or very good for swimming as of Thursday based on weekly water tests. On Sunday, expect cloudy skies and a 40 per cent chance of showers, day and night, with a forecast high of 28 C. The expected overnight low is 16 C.
The clouds are expected to stick around Monday with a 60 percent chance of showers, a forecast high of 25 C and a low of 18 C.Swimming not recommended: Petrie Island East Bay and Britannia
