Widow is 'forever grateful' someone was there for her husband. Just 48 years old, John Tomlinson of Echo Bay died after experiencing a medical emergency along the highway near Massey, west of Sudbury

Even though the outcome wasn’t what anyone wanted, an Echo Bay woman is thanking the people who stopped to try and render assistance to her husband who was in medical distress and ultimately died.

Benjamin was one of the people who performed chest compressions on the roadside until paramedics arrived to take John to the hospital. Benjamin told SooToday he was not looking for recognition when he made that post, but was genuinely concerned for the man. He didn't wish to be interviewed.Until Sarah Tomlinson saw that post on Facebook, she believed her husband had died alone along the highway.

The two had been together for 17 years and although they didn’t have any children together, they did foster for many years.
