Her roommate was a lifeguard and opened the pool for staff on a Sunday night in July. Phil and Skyla Carmona both went, meeting for the first time.Skyla CarmonaPhil Carmona, now 71, was a special forces medic stationed nearby at Fort Bragg and helped with the physicals the campers needed to get checked in.
That’s when Skyla Carmona decided to try Facebook groups. She said several people were willing to help, but because it’s a former military base, they’d need permission.
