'We bought Hovis lorry for £3k on eBay & turned it into dream home- it was cheaper than a house and we did it all ourselves'
LET'S be honest - we mostly use eBay to bulk-buy cheap cleaning supplies and bargain second-hand clothes.
But from time-to-time, something will pop up on the site that is too good to resist - which adventurers Martin Hill and Iona Stewart know ALL about.Credit: SWNS:South West News ServiceCredit: SWNS:South West News Service7Credit: SWNS:South West News Service In 2018, the savvy couple snapped up an old Hovis lorry for just £3,600 on eBay and spent four months transforming it into their dream home.
Martin explained: "About [six] years ago after a few too many beers I thought about buying a big American RV.When they got the keys to the five-tonne vehicle, it was pretty much just an empty 28-foot box.But thanks to some serious renovations and a bit of DIY, it's now been kitted out with a a luxurious bedroom, living space, kitchen and bathroom.
In total, they spent £20,000 transforming the lorry and claimed they actually saved money living in their new home - as opposed to paying for a house in the UK or accommodation while they travelled around Europe
