- ROME, OCT 14 - Italy must prepare for the inevitable economic consequences of the war between Israel and Hamas, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said on Saturday.
"The war in Ukraine had already worsened the climate around the world," the minister said in Cephalonia on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of Massacre of the Acqui Division on the Greek island during World War II. "The consequences of wars that seem distant to us will eventually reach the whole world and we must prepare ourselves because, at a time like this, we must not be divided.
"If reason does not prevail, these will be difficult times, which can cause harm and spread the fire far beyond the Gaza Strip. "Let us prepare to help the weakest part of the country that is most affected by these shocks". .
