The new restaurant is slatted to open in the fall.

, by chef-owner Dirk Tolsma, is expected to open in the fall as a two-level establishment that will feature a casual café on the ground level and a sit-down restaurant upstairs. Pete Sittnick, Tolsma’s managing partner, describes the forthcoming destination as one with fine dining elements without pretension.

The restaurant is currently under construction, but will include a wood-fired hearth and stone oven as well as a full bar. Brian Sheehy, of Future Bars, will collaborate with Acre to create a bar program filled with timeless classics like the Aperol spritz and martini, among other beer and wine options. On the menu side, customers can expect to find flatbreads, local seafood and large salads.

“We’re very excited,” Sittnick said. “My 40-year career has been pretty much in San Francisco, so it’s exciting to take on a new challenge and develop something special in a new community. Dirk lives in Oakland and he has family ties there. He’s excited to build something in the place he calls home.”
