CBC Kids News talked to kids about what it’s like to audition to be a K-pop idol during the multinational YG Entertainment auditions. #Streeters
Bianca Yan, 11, Zhiwen Yang, 16, and Elisa Vasiliadis, 11, want to be K-pop stars. They’re some of the kids and teens in Toronto, Ontario, who auditioned to be K-pop trainees on April 28. Ever wonder what it’s like to pursue K-pop stardom?
According to a report on their website, YG wants to search for K-pop talent in a wider range of cities. We wanted to see what an audition was like, so CBC Kids News dropped in on one at Star Dance Centre in Toronto on April 28.Anyone born between 2006 and 2013 could audition.What it was like to auditionIn fact, when kids and their families started arriving at the dance studio, the vibes were tense.
“It’s very fun, overwhelming and exciting,” said Alexanna Jordan Olaez, 15. “It never hurts to try something new.”
