Drivers are being warned to play it safe on what could be a challenging Wednesday morning.
The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is warning drivers about wintry conditions that could create "challenging driving conditions" around the Lower Mainland this evening and into the Wednesday morning commute.
Environment Canada is forecasting wet snow mixed with rain, with local snowfall as much as four centimetres in higher terrain — so, although it looks unlikely to be a repeat of the snowfall that brought traffic to a standstill in the region in late November, it could play havoc with driving conditions tonight and into the morning.
A ministry press release says its maintenance contractors will be monitoring conditions and will be out "in full force" to plow, sand and salt roads as required.The ministry is also offering up these tips for drivers:
