Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is set to deliver his State of the State address amid widespread speculation that he will run for president in 2024.
DeSantis has become a national figure in recent months. He is widely expected to run for president in 2024, and polls show the only person beating him is former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis’s first State of the State in his second term as governor comes as the suspected presidential candidate is in a staunchly different place than when he won in 2018.Back then, the Republican’s biggest foe was Democratic opponent Andrew Gillum, whom he beat by a slim margin.
