About 70 people, including the 49ers mascot Sourdough Sam, are rappelling down the side of the Hilton Hotel on O'Farrell Street to raise money for Outward Bound. You won't be able to see them from the sidewalk - this is an internal wall that lands in a courtyard, so they only have to rappel 25 floors instead of all 46. They also needed this particular wall since it doesn't have windows.
An Outward Bound employee was the first to go down. His slow and steady descent raised $2,500 for the organization.Hanging outside a skyscraper - but this time it’s legal!
