The community is trying to march forward on a positive note showing how they band together during the toughest of times.
It was an emotional night for a Long Island community Friday as the high school’s marching band performed for the first time since September’s deadly bus crash.The school's band director and a former teacher were killed, and dozens of students were injured.The Farmingdale High School marching band took the field to a standing ovation during tonight's homecoming football game.
“It's a very special night. I mean, this community has had a really hard time. Everyone pulls together,” one Farmingdale community member said.The performance at halftime was dedicated to the two educators who lost their lives. And a pep rally in the gym featured a gravity-defying performance with an upside-down drummer. “The kids. They were resilient like they couldn't wait to be here tonight. To see the band and welcome them back,” another Farmingdale community member said.
