Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) shared his insight and even some advice on the various Republican wins and losses across Virginia on Tuesday.

While Rep. Elaine Luria , a member of the Jan. 6 committee, was defeated by Republican candidate Jen Kiggans and four other Republican candidates won their seats in the House of Representatives, Youngkin lamented that Republican candidates Hung Cao and Yesli Vega lost in the 10th and 7th districts, respectively.

"The 7th was always in the margin, and boy, we had a ton of momentum, and yes, they ran a great campaign. It's awfully hard to unseat an incumbent," Youngkin said on Special Report with Brett Baier on Tuesday. Cao was also running against incumbent Jennifer Wexton .Youngkin continued to share his insight into the various gubernatorial races across the country, claiming that the incumbent governors won or lost because voters"have seen them perform.

"As I've said, performance matters. Voters are expecting their elected officials to deliver on campaign promises, not just before the election but to turn it into action afterwards. And I think it is a real reflection of trust that Republican governors have gained with their constituents across the country," Youngkin said. He shared similar advice to House members, advising that"they first need to get moving with promises made.

The Virginia governor predicted that Republicans will end up in the majority in both houses of Congress. Host Brett Baier asked the governor what his political plans were when his mandated term limit is up in two years. Youngkin explained he has been"very, very focused on November the 8th" and"basic kitchen table concerns" like parental rights and taxes.

"I appreciate it. I’m always humbled on this discussion," Youngkin responded to Baier's question of possible larger political aspirations."I've been very focused on being the best governor in Virginia I can be. By the way, I think we have had a great first year."Youngkin won his own race with 50.6% of the vote.
