Comedian Chris Rock slammed wokeness, the infamous Will Smith slap, Meghan Markle, and a variety of other topics in his Netflix special Selective Outrage on Saturday night.
"I'm going to try to do a show tonight without offending nobody," Rock said as he began his stand-up act."I'm going to try to do my best because you never know who might get triggered."Just a minute into his stand-up, he took a shot at actor Will Smith, who infamously slapped him during the 94th Academy Awards last March for joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Rock added,"I have no problem with wokeness. I'm all for social justice and all for marginalized people getting their rights. The thing I have a problem with is the selective outrage." "One person does something, and you get canceled. Somebody does the exact same thing, and nothing!" he said."You know the kind of people who play Michael Jackson songs but won't play R. Kelly? Same crime but one of them just got better songs."
Rock slammed businesses for"not even telling you about the product" and instead marketing"how much charity they do" to consumers. He went on to give the example of the athletic clothing store Lululemon putting up signs against racism and discrimination in their store windows.Rock mocked Duchess Meghan Markle for her claims that the royal family was racist.
